Groove Network
A Heidelberg community music initiative — connecting musicians, venues, and audiences since 2023.
Cooperation partner · Since 2026About Groove Network
Groove Network is a Heidelberg community music initiative founded equally by Joannis Schadeck and Christoph Gran. Since mid-2023 the collective has organised live music events across the city; since early 2026 it operates as a GbR (civil-law partnership).
The goal is simple: reliable stages for the local music scene, and a space where people come together through music. Groove Network is not tied to a fixed venue — it works with a broad network of locations, musicians, technicians, and volunteers.
Three years in, the operation is reliable: recurring formats with their own audience, fixed venue partnerships, a growing volunteer circle, and their own basic technical equipment.

Shared digital platform vision
Beyond event management, Groove Network is developing a vision for a digital platform that organises the cultural and volunteer scene of a city. A central hub with an event calendar, volunteer matching, and a single point of visibility for local projects.
dasgroove.net is the working proof of concept. The platform vision is a cooperative project among several Heidelberg initiatives — not a solo effort. OpenHeidelberg contributes technical expertise and AI know-how to the conceptual sharpening and step-by-step realisation.
Cooperation with OpenHeidelberg
- Joint events combining the music and tech communities — a "Music meets" edition with a live music and AI theme
- Know-how sharing: OpenHeidelberg supports the platform concept with technical guidance
- Community building across the music/culture and tech/developer communities
- Regular coordination
The cooperation is formalised by a Letter of Intent signed on 27 July 2026.
